A Featured Recording Artist is a performer, whether an instrumentalist or vocalist, an individual or a group, who has a royalty contract with regard to the sound recording (album or single) which earned the royalties. The featured artist is the contract or royalty artist that is featured on the sound recording.

A Sound Recording Copyright Owner owns the right to reproduce the sound recording; this may be an individual or record label.
