AARC ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF
12 TH ANNUAL ROYALTY DISTRIBUTION
TO FEATURED ARTISTS AND COPYRIGHT OWNERS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 2007

ALEXANDRIA , VA , December 14, 2007- The Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies (AARC) announced today the successful completion of the twelfth annual distribution of domestic and international Hometaping and Rental Royalties to featured artists and sound recording copyright owners totaling $5,000,000.

Linda R. Bocchi, executive director of AARC, had this to say, “I was very happy with the December distribution, both in terms of total dollars and number of members that received payments. Our staff worked hard to ensure a smooth and flawless distribution.” The 2007 distribution has proven to be the most successful in the history of AARC, increasing the total royalties distributed by nearly 30% over last year. Such a significant increase is largely due to AARC's continuing efforts to secure agreements with foreign collectives.

AARC is pleased to announce that 2007 has seen the procurement of a new agreement with Switzerland which will provide additional royalties to US artists. “It is our goal to reach out to every country we can to protect the rights of both our US and non-US members,” said Bocchi. Ms. Bocchi regularly reaches out to foreign countries with private and rental laws in place, seeking payments for AARC members and US artists in general. Not only has AARC secured a final agreement with Switzerland, but drafts of agreements are being reviewed by the representatives of other collectives as well. AARC hopes to announce new agreements in the coming months. In addition to Switzerland, AARC has agreements in place with Japan, Spain, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

“AARC has had a very busy and successful year. We are very happy to not only have increased the royalties for our members by strengthening our foreign presence, but also have reached out to more artists and copyright owners, who were not previously collecting this royalty. AARC is proud to have distributed royalties to over 95,000 artists and record labels. We're constantly recruiting new members to ensure everyone that is entitled to this royalty is collecting it," said Bocchi. "We look forward to what 2008 will bring.”

AARC ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF
11 TH ANNUAL ROYALTY DISTRIBUTION
TO FEATURED ARTISTS AND COPYRIGHT OWNERS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 2007

ALEXANDRIA , VA , January 10, 2007 -- The Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies (AARC) announced today the completion of its annual distribution to artists and record companies, totaling nearly $3,500,000. This represents AARC’s eleventh annual distribution.

AARC is a not-for-profit organization representing artists and recording companies in regard to hometaping and rental royalties in the US and abroad. It is the leading common agent representing these two groups. AARC is lead by a Board of Directors consisting of 13 record company and 13 artist representatives.

"Once again the distribution went off flawlessly,” said Linda R. Bocchi, executive director of AARC. “I am also very proud of the fact that, as we have done repeatedly over the past several years, we were able to include a new source of foreign royalties in the distribution. This year's distribution included Dutch artist and independent record company royalties," she further explained.

AARC has also made impressive advances in the international arena. Many countries have hometaping laws, similar to the US Audio Home Recording Act of 1992, permitting featured artists and record companies to recover hometaping royalties. AARC currently has agreements for artists’ hometaping royalties with Japan , Spain , Ireland and the Netherlands . In addition, AARC has agreements with Japan and the Netherlands for independent record company hometaping royalties.

In addition to these agreements, AARC also has an agreement with Japan for artists’ royalties from the rental of sound recordings in Japan . Japan is one of just a few countries that have a music rental market. This agreement stems from the provisions in the TRIPS Agreement, which is an international trade-related agreement to protect intellectual property. AARC is currently in negotiations with other countries and hopes to have several new agreements in the near future.

The 2006 year saw an increase of 171% in new featured artist and copyright owner membership over the previous year. Artists and sound recording copyright owners interested in collecting their hometaping and rental royalties should visit AARC’s website at www.aarcroyalties.com or call Bree Dietrich, Deputy Director of Royalty Administration at 703.535.8101 to sign up.

AARC STRENGTHENS RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNATIONAL ROYALTY ORGANIZATIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 2007

Alexandria , VA. , The Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies (AARC) has hosted the heads of several international royalty organizations this fall. Of those visiting were Japan ’s CPRA, the Netherlands’ SENA, Ireland ’s RAAP, England ’s PPL, and Spain ’s AIE.

In September, AARC met with representatives from PPL of England to establish an agreement. This contract will increase AARC’s overall membership and provide US Audio Home Recording Act royalties to those artists represented by PPL. This contract also establishes guaranteed funds to AARC members, if England adopts a private copy levy.

AARC also met with CPRA of Japan in September. AARC negotiated its first royalty agreement with Japan in 1997, which has led to over $7 million distributed to AARC members in the past 11 years. The meeting in September was an opportunity to solidify the good relations between AARC and CPRA.

In October AARC welcomed representatives from AIE of Spain, SENA of the Netherlands and RAAP of Ireland. AARC has agreements with AIE and SENA that will allow AARC to distribute an additional $4 million over the next few years. Currently, AARC’s agreement with RAAP provides US royalties to RAAP members, guaranteeing royalties to AARC if an Irish private copy levy is adopted.

A new royalty claim for the 2006 royalty year will be filed in February, 2007. To ensure that you or your artists are on the claim, please contact Bree Dietrich:
